After releasing a steady stream of 7-inch singles over the past couple years, The Dead Milkmen return next month with their first new album in three years, a 17-track collection called Pretty Music For Pretty People that, perhaps not surprisingly, contains many of the songs included on those limited-edition 45s.

For this week’s “120 Minutes” Rewind, we revisit an August 1989 episode featuring an appearance by The Dead Milkmen, who cracked wise with host Kevin Seal, read some fan mail on air and stuck around to perform a couple tunes. The folks at Freedom Records & Films are in the process of putting together a documentary on Mojo Nixon, that one-of-a-kind loud-mouthed rocker who rose to semi-fame in the late ’80s with singles “Elvis is Everywhere” and “Debbie Gibson is Pregnant with My Two-Headed Love Child.”

The Dead Milkmen return this week with the fourth in their new series of limited-edition 7-inch singles — this one’s called “Welcome to Undertown” — and you can now stream both songs off the vinyl single (the title track and “Streetlamps”) as well as the digital-only bonus track, “The Sun Turns Our Patio Into a Lifeless Hell.”
