Mark Hollis, the co-founder, lead singer and chief songwriter for Talk Talk, a British group that made its mark with early ’80s synthpop hits before morphing into something altogether artier, has died following a short illness, his former manager confirmed Tuesday. He was 64.

This week’s new releases include a new collection of Billy Bragg and Wilco’s ‘Mermaid Avenue’ recordings, plus two vinyl-and-DVD reissues from Talk Talk, a box set featuring the first four albums by Spandau Ballet and the U.S. release of remix album from Nick Cave’s Grinderman.

Having released 1991′s ‘Laughing Stock’ on vinyl for the first time ever last year, Talk Talk continues to reissue its catalog, this time with 1986’s ‘The Colour of Spring’ and 1988’s ‘Spirit of Eden’ set for an April release on 180-gram audiophile vinyl with an accompanying DVD featuring a new 96 kHz/24 bit LPCM stereo mix.
