Cherry Red Records this summer will release the latest in its series of box sets commemorating extremely specific U.K. musical subgenres with “Come Together.”

The death over the weekend of legendary record man Seymour Stein has unleashed a torrent of heartfelt appreciations from the musicians he championed.

The Charlatans recently completed a North American tour with Ride, and while the bands were in Seattle, Tim Burgess and Co. stopped by KEXP.

This week’s new release round-up includes the rush-released new studio album from ex-Sugarcubes frontwoman Bjork, plus the new Charlatans’ studio album, an expanded 2CD reissue of The Primitives’ “Galore,” and vinyl reissues of Guided By Voices’ “Bee Thousand” and “King Shit & The Golden Boys.”

The U.K.’s Barnaby Festival wrapped up Sunday night with The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess and friends playing in a church, concluding with Burgess bringing Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert onstage to perform nearly-unplugged versions of “Love Vigilantes,” “Love Will Tear Us Apart” and “World in Motion.”
