Cindy Wilson, one of the founding vocalists of Athens, Ga., favorites The B-52s, will release her debut solo album — the electro-flavored Change — on Kill Rock Stars this fall and head out on what she’s calling an “unprecedented multimedia concert tour” of North America. The Psychedelic Furs this week rolled out what the band is calling the “first wave” of dates for its spring tour, nine shows in the eastern U.S. this May that will be followed a trio of “Fireworks Finale” concerts in September at the famed Hollywood Bowl with The B-52s. See full dates here.

B-52s co-founder Kate Pierson will make her solo debut next year with the release of Guitars and Microphones, a 10-track album described as “marrying party rock, psychedelia and socio-political punk” and featuring songs co-written by Sia and a guest appearance by guitarist Nick Valensi of The Strokes.

For this week’s installment in the Vintage Video series, we revisit the classic, original lineup of The B-52s — including the late Ricky Wilson — as the band plays a 30-minute set in Dortmund, part of what was then West Germany, in 1983 for the TV show “Rockpalast.” The set comes a month after the release of “Whammy!”

With frontman Richard Butler presumably recovered from the spinal surgery that sidelined the band’s New Year’s dates, The Psychedelic Furs today announced a run of seven U.S. concerts in late May and early June — including a pair on the East Coast with The Go-Go’s.

Pop favorites The B-52s and The Go-Go’s are teaming up for a joint U.S. tour this summer, and while only one date is so far confirmed — at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom on June 19 — the two bands have announced plans to perform together in at least 11 cities.
