Greg Dulli’s post-Afghan Whigs project The Twilight Singers — mothballed since the Whigs’ resurrection in 2011 — will release a 13-piece vinyl box set this October.

The Afghan Whigs returned with their first new music in five years, a single called “I’ll Make You See God” that will be featured on the game “Gran Turismo 7.”

This is a round-up of the week’s new albums, expanded reissues and/or box sets, appearing each Monday on Slicing Up Eyeballs. All releases due out this Friday unless noted. May also include some other titles released in recent weeks but not previously featured. This week: Greg Dulli, Guided By Voices and C90.

The Afghan Whigs and Built to Spill will team up for a 24-date North American co-headlining tour this spring, taking their alt-rock guitar stylings out on the road for a tour that opens April 11 in Madison, Wisc., and wrap ups May 15 in Seattle. Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday.

As The Afghan Whigs prepare to release their second post-reunion album, In Spades, on Friday, the Greg Dulli-helmed outfit this week announced a 28-city North American tour in support of the record this September and October. The Whigs also have released a music video for In Spades track “Oriole.”

The Afghan Whigs will release their second post-reunion album, In Spades, on May 5 on Sub Pop Records, and today gave fans their second taste of the record with the release of “Arabian Height,” which you can stream here. The single follows the video release of “Demon in Profile.”

Having just wrapped up a European tour in support of their reunion album, The Afghan Whigs dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, where they performed a pair of tracks off Do To the Beast: the single “The Lottery,” which was shown on-air, and then, as a web-only performance, “I Am Fire,” coupled with just a taste of Fleetwood Mac’s “Tusk.”
