Sony/Legacy is reissuing the catalog of the utterly unique New Wave standout Klaus Nomi in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of his untimely death.

More than 28 years after being banned from “Saturday Night Live” — reportedly over a drunken and profane performance — The Replacements will return to NBC’s famed 30 Rockefeller Center next week to perform as musical guests on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”

Today we mark the birthday of Paul Simonon — he’s turning 55 — with this performance of The Clash bassist’s signature tune, ‘The Guns of Brixton,’ filmed April 25, 1980, for the band’s second-ever U.S. television appearance on ABC’s late-night comedy show ‘Fridays.’
