Modern English plans to release their ninth album, titled 1234, this fall and have just announced an 18-date U.S. tour that’s focused largely on the Midwest and South.
“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, airs 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave.
Modern English singer Robbie Grey and bassist Mick Conroy will join Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian to co-host Sunday night’s episode of “Dark Wave.”
No stranger to rerecording its classic 1982 single “I Melt With You,” Modern English has done so again — this time in the style of our times, the socially distanced performance that’s recorded separately-but-together over Zoom. The band will be reissue the “I Melt With You” 12-inch single for Record Store Day on Oct. 24.
Reunited post-punk/New Wave rockers Modern English — original members Robbie Grey (vocals), Gary McDowell (guitar), Mick Conroy (bass) and Stephen Walker (keyboards), plus guitarist Steven Walker and drummer Ric Chandler — have announced a nine-date tour of the East Coast for late August.
Citing “unforeseen circumstances… beyond our control,” reunited post-punk/New Wave rockers Modern English canceled a five-date tour of the band’s native U.K. that was to have taken place this week, and instead announced a trio of concerts in Florida later this month.
