The Cure is preparing a deluxe 20th anniversary reissue of ‘Wish’ for release sometime in 2012, as well as a new 7-inch of that album’s hit single ‘Friday I’m In Love’ to be released on Record Store Day next April to help raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Rhino Records has asked us here at Slicing Up Eyeballs to guest-curate their weekly Rhinofy playlist ‘Just Can’t Get Enough — The ’80s’ on the Spotify streaming-music service for the month of December, which means we’ll have a new 20-song playlist posted each of the next four Fridays — starting today.

New Order apparently has pushed back the release of ‘Lost Sirens’ — an eight-track CD/LP package featuring material left over from the recording sessions for 2005 swan song ‘Waiting for the Sirens’ Call’ — from mid-December until March 19, according to an updated listing posted by Amazon.co.uk.

The limited-edition Joy Division box set comprised of 10 newly remastered 7-inch singles that was released late last year is being reissued next month — this time on compact disc, collecting ‘CD replicas of 10 singles presented in a beautiful clamshell box.’

To promote this week’s U.K. release of The Smiths’ career-spanning ‘Complete’ box set in CD and digital formats, the U.K. arm of Rhino Records put together this minute-long commercial to advance the “iTunes LP” edition of the set. Check it out.
