A parade of classic synthpop and electronic artists including Erasure, Yazoo, Nitzer Ebb and four current and former members of Depeche Mode will take the stage in London this weekend to celebrate the hugely influential Mute Records label at the annual Short Circuit Electronic Music Festival.

The promoters of the Gary Numan-headlined Back To The Phuture concerts taking place this April in the U.K. are offering up a pair of free tickets to the London event — also featuring John Foxx and a DJ set by Daniel Miller — for one lucky Slicing Up Eyeballs reader.

With Alan Wilder and Vince Clarke on board, Depeche Mode fans are abuzz over the possibility that all five past and present members will appear on disc together for the first time on a new remix album reported to be in the works.

While it wasn’t quite as momentous as last February’s performance of ‘Somebody’ at London’s Royal Albert Hall, former Depeche Mode bandmates Alan Wilder and Martin Gore teamed once again up last night, with Gore appearing as a post-show DJ at Wilder’s Recoil performance in Santa Ana, Calif.

With his North American tour now underway, former Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder today offered up a free Recoil multimedia EP — ‘Want: The Architect Mixes’ — that fans can download from Mute Records in exchange for a name and e-mail address.

A day after Vince Clarke tweeted he is collaborating with former bandmate Martin Gore on a new song, a cryptic video surfaced that appears to announce Gore will join ex-DM member Alan Wilder at the latter’s Recoil event on Oct. 24 in Santa Ana, Calif.

Former bandmates Vince Clarke and Martin Gore — who parted ways professionally nearly 30 years ago when Clarke quit Depeche Mode — are working together again on a ‘techno-ish’ track that could be destined for the forthcoming Erasure album.
