This week’s new releases include a limited-edition ‘Sonik Kick’ 7-inch singles box set from Paul Weller, plus the U.S. releases of recent albums by Alison Moyet (‘the minutes’) and British Electric Foundation (‘Dark’), plus an expanded reissue of Johnny Thunders’ 1983 album ‘Hurt Me.’

This week’s new releases include a brand-new two-track single from Paul Weller (“Flame-Out! b/w “The Olde Original”), the first album since 1981 from UK Decay, a remix collection from Gary Numan and live albums both new and old from Peter Hook & The Light and The Monochrome Set.

After playing just a handful of U.S. shows in support of last year’s Sonik Kicks, modfather Paul Weller will return to these shores this summer for a limited tour of cities on the East Coast, playing six concerts in New York, Brooklyn, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. They’re billed as his only U.S. shows this year.

The 2013 installment of Record Store Day is still three months away, but details are starting to emerge about what bands will be offering limited-edition vinyl releases to commemorate the day — a list that so far includes new releases from the likes of Hüsker Dü, Robyn Hitchcock, Paul Weller and Wire.

Not a lot of action on the new-release front as we approach the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, but this week does see the release of a new Paul Weller vinyl EP collecting some of the ‘Sonik Kicks’ B-sides, plus a 2CD U.S. release of the recent ‘The Pogues in Paris’ live album

Paul Weller will close out 2012 by releasing a new six-track EP built around “Dragonfly,” a standout on this year’s ‘Sonik Kicks’ album, that will be released digitally and as a limited-edition 12-inch single with five additional songs that have been released already this year as B-sides or bonus tracks.

Paul Weller today unveiled details for the upcoming 30th anniversary box set of The Jam’s chart-topping 1982 album The Gift, revealing that the 3CD/1DVD “super deluxe edition” will include a 23-track live recording of a December 1982 concert from Wembley Arena and 13 previously unreleased demos and alternate tracks

After playing just two shows in New York and a concert in Toronto this past May in support of ‘Sonik Kicks,’ Paul Weller will return to the U.S. this fall for an even briefer visit: The ex-Jam leader is set to perform on the Oct. 18 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and will follow that with a concert Oct. 19 at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre.

Universal Music is planning a 30th anniversary box set of The Jam’s chart-topping 1982 album The Gift — featuring one of Paul Weller and Co.’s best-known singles, “Town Called Malice” — and is asking fans to submit memorabilia such as “photos, tour tickets, posters or newspaper articles” for inclusion in the reissue.
