Nick Cave may be shelving his garage-blues side project Grinderman, but not before releasing a 12-track remix album called ‘Grinderman 2 RMX,’ collecting new and previously released mixes of cuts from the band’s sophomore album by members of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, UNKLE and Queens of the Stone Age.

Nick Cave is pulling the plug on Grinderman and The Stone Roses have signed U.S. and U.K. record deals, plus a great photo essay chronicling a recent Peter Murphy gig in Philadelphia, word of a new book about Talk Talk and audio of an interview with Throbbing Gristle’s Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti.

Although Grinderman’s been on the frontburner of late, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds move on to Round 3 of their extensive reissue campaign this spring, delivering expanded re-releases of 1994’s ‘Let Love In,’ 1996’s ‘Murder Ballads,’ 1997’s ‘The Boatman’s Call’ and 2001’s ‘No More Shall We Part.’

Monday night, Nick Cave’s sludgy blues-rock outfit Grinderman took a break from its ongoing U.S. tour to stop by ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,’ where the band of occasional Bad Seeds ripped through ‘Mickey Mouse and the Goodbye Man,’ the lead-off track on this year’s ‘Grinderman 2’ album.

With Grinderman’s European tour now complete and an American trek ready to begin next week, Nick Cave’s sludge-blues side project this week released a video for ‘Worm Tamer,’ the forthcoming second single off the band’s ‘Grinderman 2’ album.

This week’s new CD releases include new albums from Lloyd Cole (‘Broken Record,’ his first full-band effort in a decade), The Vaselines (‘Sex With an X,’ their first album in 21 years), Nick Cave’s Grinderman side project (‘Grinderman 2’) and James (the 2CD ‘The Morning After the Night Before’).
