As he prepares to embark on his U.S. tour next week, Morrissey has now announced a tour of arenas and larger venues in the U.K. and Ireland early next year in support of his forthcoming album Low in High School. The trek opens in Aberdeen on Feb. 16 and wraps up with London concerts on March 7 and 9.

Morrissey today debuted the second track off his upcoming 11th solo album, Low in High School, via the lyric video you can see below for “I Wish You Lonely,” driven by its mid-tempo stomp and Moz’s insistent vocals. The song follows lead single “Spent the Day in Bed.” Hear the new song right here.

Nearly a year after his last U.S. tour fizzled amid cancellations and illness, Morrissey will return to the road this fall for a 16-date American trek in support of the forthcoming album Low in High School. Morrissey today announced the release of his first album in three years and 11th overall as a solo artist, a collection titled Low in High-School that will arrive Nov. 17 via his new Etienne Records imprint on the BMG label, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The upcoming expanded reissue of The Smiths’ classic 1986 album The Queen is Dead, it turns out, will be bigger than originally thought. Rhino Records this morning formally announced the first-ever expanded reissue from the legendary band, revealing that it will be be released as a 3CD/1DVD boxed set.

The world got its first glimpse today of the much-anticipated Morrissey biopic “England Is Mine” after the release of the trailer for the film that stars Jack Lowden as the young Steven Patrick Morrissey in the lead-up to the formation of The Smiths. The film, directed by Mark Gill, is set to be released in the U.K. on Aug. 4.

As had been hinted at last week, a pair of new vinyl releases from The Smiths — 7-inch and 12-inch singles of “The Queen is Dead” — slipped into U.K. shops unannounced today to mark the 31st anniversary of the original release of the band’s classic third album, The Queen is Dead.
