Twenty-two years ago, Robert Smith sat for a half-hour BBC2 documentary about The Cure that aired Aug. 8, 1988, as one of 10 installments of the series ‘That Was Then… This Is Now.’

We continue our commemoration of this week’s 25th anniversary reissue of the groundbreaking ‘This Is Big Audio Dynamite’ with this seven-minute electronic press kit assembled by bandmember Don Letts that the folks at Columbia/Legacy sent out to the media on Wednesday.

The seminal debut from Mick Jones’ post-Clash outfit Big Audio Dynamite is set to be reissued tomorrow in an expanded 2CD package — and to mark the occasion, Slicing Up Eyeballs spoke to drummer Greg Roberts about B.A.D.’s origins, the recording of ‘This Is Big Audio Dynamite’ and his current group, Dreadzone.

This week’s new releases include ‘Your Future Our Clutter,’ the 28th album from The Fall, plus the 2CD ‘This is Big Audio Dynamite: Legacy Edition,’ a new EP from James, a KMFDM remix disc, a best-of from The Triffids and a Robs Records compilation.
