This week’s releases include new albums from Lloyd Cole and Swans, plus reissues from The Dream Syndicate, Midnight Oil, D.O.A. and more.

Lloyd Cole paints a vivid picture of a fiery Los Angeles — burning cars, surging mobs — on his driving new single “Warm By the Fire,” off upcoming album On Pain.

Lloyd Cole is offering up the first taste of his new album On Pain in the form of two “(p)remixes” of “Wolves,” one done by Cole himself and the other by Martyn Ware.

Lloyd Cole today announced he’ll release his 12th solo album this summer, a collection that finds him further exploring the electronic sounds that highlighted 2019’s Guesswork.

The definitive Lloyd Cole and the Commotions box set Collected Recordings 1983-1989 — which pulls together the Commotions’ three albums, as well as bonus collections of B-sides, remixes,  outtakes, demos and rarities — will receive its first-ever vinyl release later this month.

This week’s new releases include “Spirit,” the 14th studio album from Depeche Mode, the “Lloyd Cole in New York: Complete Recordings 1988-1996” 6-disc box set, including Cole’s ’90s solo albums and unreleased demos, plus a new solo album, “American Beauty,” by latter-era Ramones bassist CJ Ramone.
