Gary Numan is set to release a new album called ‘Dead Son Rising’ this September that will feature ‘a mixture of new songs, instrumental tracks and specially commissioned remixes’ that he will sell exclusively through his website and on a just-announced seven-date U.K. tour.

This week’s new releases include 10 remastered INXS albums (without bonus material), a 2CD remastered edition of Sebadoh’s ‘Bakesale,’ Gary Numan’s ‘Replicas Live’ CD and DVD, and Joe Jackson’s ‘Live Music.’

The latest installment of the AV Club’s ‘Undercover’ series finds Rocky Votolato and the members of Matt Pond PA doing a stripped-down take on The Human League’s 1981 synthpop classic ‘Don’t You Want Me.’ Check out the video here.

Celebrity gossip TV show ‘Extra’ this week posted a performance/interview segment with synthpop innovator Gary Numan, in which he plays ‘Cars’ and discusses last year’s tour in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of his debut album, ‘The Pleasure Principle.’

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival tonight unveiled the official lineup for the April15-17 festival, which will include appearances by Duran Duran, Wire and — in one of the lineup’s biggest surprises — a reunion of Mick Jones’ post-Clash project Big Audio Dynamite.

With his 30th anniversary ‘Pleasure Principle’ U.S. tour now underway, synthpop figurehead Gary Numan this week released separate CD and DVD documents of his Dec. 3, 2009, London performance of that landmark 1980 solo debut and other assorted selections from his ample back catalog.
