This week’s new releases include the first new album in 17 years from reunited shoegaze legends Swervedriver (“I Wasn’t Born To Lose You”), an album of studio reworkings of live Chris & Cosey tracks by the duo under their current name Carter Tutti, and the UK release of the new Gang of Four album.

Post-punk legends Gang of Four today debuted the music video for “England’s In My Bones,” one of two songs featuring Alison Mosshart of The Kills and The Dead Weather appearing on the band’s forthcoming album. You can watch the clip right here.

Gang of Four return next month with their eighth album and first without founding vocalist Jon King, an 11-song collection that features new frontman John “Gaoler” Sterry plus guest vocalists Alison Mosshart of The Kills, Gail Ann Dorsey, Robbie Furze of the Big Pink , Japanese guitar hero Hotei and more.

We re-christen the long-dormant Vintage Video series with this fantastic pro-shot footage of Gang of Four performing a taut, 22-minute set at the Music Biennale Zagreb festival in Croatia, on May 15, 1981. The performance comes a couple months after the release of the band’s sophomore album, Solid Gold,

Gang of Four today premiered a brand-new song and a brand-new lineup, with vocalist John “Gaoler” taking the place of founding member Jon King, who had participated in the group’s mid-2000s reunion and 2011 studio album Content. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is helping make a feature-length documentary about the so-called ‘Woodstock of the ’80s’ — the 1982 US Festival, which featured Talking Heads, Oingo Boingo, The B-52s, The Cars, Ramones, Gang of Four and more — to be released this Labor Day weekend on the event’s 30th anniversary.
