This week’s new releases include vinyl reissues from R.E.M., Catherine Wheel, The Stone Roses and The Ocean Blue, plus a new album from The B-52s’ Cindy Wilson.

Cocteau Twins co-founder Robin Guthrie teased on social media this past week that he’s been working with former label 4AD on “several projects.”

Cocteau Twins frontwoman Elizabeth Fraser today debuted her first new music in 13 years, the track “Golden Air” from her new project Sun’s Signature.

Elizabeth Fraser will release her first new music in more than a decade via a “finally finished” 12-inch vinyl EP featuring five songs by Fraser and her partner Damon Reece.

The musical reemergence of Elizabeth Fraser continues with the release today of a new single from Sigur Rós’ Jónsi, who features the backing vocals of the former Cocteau Twins singer on the track “Cannibal” — which you can hear via its Giovanni Ribisi-directed music video.

The 4AD label next month will release remastered editions of the Cocteau Twins’ first and fourth studio albums — 1982’s Garlands and 1986’s Victorialand — on 140-gram black vinyl, completing the effort to put all of the band’s studio albums back in print on vinyl. Details right here.

The artistic emergence of Elizabeth Fraser — the heavenly, if reclusive, voice of the Cocteau Twins — continues with the release by Sam Lee of a new recording of ancient folk song “The Moon Shines Bright,” which finds the British folk singer duetting with Fraser.
