The Pet Shop Boys will follow up last fall’s North American tour in support of their Electric album with another short run of U.S. dates this spring, as the band today announced seven new concerts surrounding the duo’s twin appearances at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in April.

After playing more than 30 dates here this summer, The Cult brings its “Electric 13” tour — during which the band is performing its Rick Rubin-produced third album Electric each night in its entirely — back to to North American this December, with 14 more concerts scheduled in the U.S. and Canada.

The Pet Shop Boys won’t release the next single off their new album Electric until November — “Thursday,” featuring the rapper Example — but they went ahead and debuted the track’s music video, which features a giant Neil Tennant projected onto the sides of buildings.

Late last month, The Cult embarked on a lengthy U.S. tour dubbed “Electric 13,” during which the band will be performing ts hard-rocking, Rick Rubin-produced third album Electric each night in its entirely, plus an assortment of other songs. This week’s new releases include the Pet Shop Boys’ second new album in a year (‘Electric’), plus an expanded reissue of The Cult’s ‘Electric,’ a repress of Peter Buck’s 2012 vinyl-only solo debut and a new monkey-themed 7-inch, a collection of Style Council albums and a reissue of Frank Black’s ‘Oddballs.’

The Pet Shop Boys next week will release their second new studio album in less than a year, and, as has become customary these days, the group is streaming Electric in full in advance of its official arrival. Beginning today, you can stream the full nine-track album over at Pandora.

As we reported last month, The Cult is reissuing its third album Electric in an expanded set paired with Peace — the aborted Love follow-up the band abandoned in favor of the Rick Rubin-produced hard-rock album — and Beggars Archive has now confirmed that the release, Electric Peace, is now due out next month.

The Pet Shop Boys today debuted the video for Electric single “Vocal,” and it’s a bit of a time warp: The Joost Vandeburg-directed clip — which you can see below — is comprised of “authentic amateur film footage shot at various raves in the late ’80s” as well as images from the Hacienda club in Manchester.

The Cult have been teasing fans the last couple days via social media that they plan to announce a new tour called “Electric 13” on Monday — a trek that presumably will find Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy revisiting their 1987 hard-rock turn Electric on stage each night. The tour is poised to come to the U.S. and U.K.
