Dinosaur Jr won’t release its third post-reunion album, ‘I Bet On Sky,’ until September, but fans can get an early taste via the first track to emerge from the records, the chugging rocker ‘Watch the Corners,’ which premiered on RollingStone.com on Friday and can now be streamed here.

Dinosaur Jr today announced they will release their third post-reunion album, the 10-track ‘I Bet on Sky,’ on Sept. 17 in the U.K. and Sept. 18 in the U.S. and then embark on a 29-date North American tour this fall. The band — J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph — recorded the album earlier this year. See tour dates here.

Dinosaur Jr next month will follow up this spring’s release of the DVD and Blu-ray ‘Bug Live at 9:30 Club: In the Hands of the Fans’ with a super-limited, purple-vinyl pressing of that performance, recorded June 25, 2011,at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. Seattle’s KEXP has been uploading past in-studio sessions to YouTube of late, and the latest beneficiary of this is Dinosaur Jr. The trio stopped in on Dec. 17, 2011, to record live versions of a couple classics and its trademark cover of The Cure’s ‘Just Like Heaven,’ plus have a little chat with Henry Rollins.

This week’s new releases include — at long last — the reissues of My Bloody Valentine’s two studio albums, plus a compilation of EPs and unreleased tracks, as well as the new self-titled debut from Heavy Blanket, a project that finds Dinosaur Jr’s J Mascis playing ‘psych-drenched instrumental blues jams.’

This spring, Dinosaur Jr’s frontman will release a six-track, self-titled debut from Heavy Blanket, which Outer Battery Records describes as ‘blistering psych-drenched instrumental blues jams from J Mascis and his stoner buddies.’ The album is due May 6 on CD and vinyl, plus a super-limited run of 200 purple-vinyl copies.
