Former Depeche Mode bandmates Vince Clarke and Martin Gore are working not just on a lone track, but a full ‘kind of dancey record,’ Clarke confirmed in an interview posted by The Quietus today.

Fans today got their first glimpse of Depeche Mode’s forthcoming ‘Tour of the Universe: Live in Barcelona’ DVD/Blu-ray as the band posted a 24-second clip that mostly features shots of fans waving their arms and clapping to the strains of ‘Songs of Faith and Devotion’ single ‘I Feel You.’ Plus, there are a couple shots of Dave Gahan waving his arms and clapping, too.

Highlights of tonight’s ‘Dark Wave’ on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave included a rarely-heard Depeche Mode B-side (‘Breathing in Fumes’), a pair of songs from The Cure’s ‘The Top’ (‘Shake Dog Shake,’ ‘Birdmad Girl’) and Joe Strummer’s great contribution to the ‘Sid and Nancy’ soundtrack (‘Love Kills’).

A long-rumored concert film of Depeche Mode’s 2009-2010 Tour of the Universe will be released this November in three different DVD/CD and Blu-ray configurations, according to fan site Home, which also reports the famed synthpop act is rumored to be prepping a new remix CD for release next year.

This week’s installment of ‘Dark Wave’ on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave features some nice highlights, including a deep album cut from Depeche Mode (‘Stories of Old’), some classic Wire (‘Ahead’) and a dash of Kraftwerk (‘The Telephone Call’).

The highlights of tonight’s ‘Dark Wave’ on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave include some unusual selections from big names like The Cure (‘Just One Kiss,’ the B-side of ‘The Walk’) and Depeche Mode (‘Black Celebration’ album cut ‘Here is the House’), plus the return of ‘No Name, No Slogan,’ the one-off 1989 single from Acid Horse, a hybrid of Ministry and Cabaret Voltaire.

Bookended by a pair of great Depeche Mode tracks, tonight’s ‘Dark Wave’ show on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave was a strong one, featuring some very early Cure (‘Another Day’), a rare appearance by Oingo Boingo (‘Pain’) and a blast of Skinny Puppy (‘Smothered Hope’).
