Back in 2013, former Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman sang in concert for the first time since that band’s demise in 1995, taking the mic during an orchestral performance of some of the beloved film scores he’s composed for director Tim Burton’s work. He did it again this weekend, and sang an Oingo Boingo song, too.

Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman’s lone solo record — 1984’s appropriately titled So-Lo — has been reissued on CD for the first time in more than a decade by the Varese Sarabande label, which has supplemented the nine-song album with a lone bonus track: the original mix of single and album opener “Gratitude.”

Former Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman returned to the concert stage for the first time in 18 years last fall, conducting and singing at a handful of dates in the U.K. and U.S. — and he’ll now reprise that performance at a pair of Los Angeles-area concerts at Halloween.

Earlier this month in London, Danny Elfman took the concert stage for an ultra-rare live appearance celebrating his film scores for director Tim Burton that concluded with something even more rare: Elfman took the mic for his first public vocal performance since Oingo Boingo’s demise nearly 18 years ago.

Eighteen years to the day after Oingo Boingo’s farewell concert at the Universal Amphitheater, the band’s former frontman, Danny Elfman, will take the concert stage for an ultra-rare live performance on Halloween, conducting and singing a program called “Danny Elfman’s Music From the Films of Tim Burton.”

Danny Elfman will take the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall this October for a cinematic career overview entitled “Danny Elfman’s Music From the Films of Tim Burton” that will find him doing something he hasn’t done since Oingo Boingo’s farewell concert on Halloween night 1995: singing in public.
