A pair of authors are promising the first critical biography of The B-52s with their just-published new book on the iconic New Wave rockers.
The B-52s this summer will release an expanded 30th anniversary reissue of their fifth album Cosmic Thing, the record that served as a comeback following the death of guitarist Ricky Wilson and catapulted the Athens, Ga., party band into orbit with hit single “Love Shack.” Check out the full tracklist here.
This week’s new releases include expanded reissues of Peter Gabriel’s ‘So’ and Heaven 17’s ‘The Luxury Gap,’ plus a new live CD/DVD set from The Mission, the previously unreleased original demo tape from Rites of Spring, a new album from XTC’s Andy Partridge and Peter Blegvad, and vinyl release from The B-52s and Ultravox.
This week’s new releases include ‘Purity of Essence,’ a new studio album from the Hoodoo Gurus (out in Australia, anyway); ‘Sunflower Stories,’ a four-track EP from the Cocteau Twins’ Robin Guthrie; and an Audio Fidelity gold-disc reissue of The B-52s’ ‘Cosmic Thing.’
