With that joint Peter Murphy tour now off the table, Dead Can Dance’s Brendan Perry yesterday announced the second leg of his 2010 tour: 17 dates in the U.K. and Europe spread across May, June, July, August and into September — with ‘more concerts to follow.’

A planned 100-date, joint Brendan Perry/Peter Murphy world tour isn’t happening because of the ex-Bauhaus frontman’s undisclosed health issues, leaving the former Dead Can Dance member to deride his would-be tourmate as being ‘a sandwich short of a picnic.’

Highlights from tonight’s ‘Dark Wave’ on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave include a rare selection from Die Warzu (‘Never Again’), Depeche Mode’s greatest B-side (‘Dangerous’) and a one-off 1989 industrial-dance single from the long-forgotten Gruesome Twosome (‘Hallucination Generation’). Plus, the playlist actually ventured outside of the ’80s, offering ’90s and ’00s cuts from The Cure (‘Burn’), Love and Rockets (‘Sweet F.A.’) and Bauhaus (‘Black Stone Heart’).

Dead Can Dance’s Brendan Perry today unveiled a 20-date solo tour of Europe this spring in support of his forthcoming album Ark — his release first in 11 years — and said his previously announced co-headlining tour with Peter Murphy will open in mid-April in South America.
