Last month, World Party mainman Karl Wallinger did a low-key round of radio station appearances and record shop in-stores in the U.S. to promote the release of the ‘Arkeology’ box set — including this 40-minute performance at Fingerprints in Long Beach, Calif., on Record Store Day.

This week’s new releases include a brand-new, four-track digital EP from Public Image Ltd., plus a new 2CD live album from Peter Gabriel, a double-DVD vintage live set from Joe Jackson and the U.K. release of World Party’s new 5CD ‘Arkeology’ box set.

Next month, Karl Wallinger will release his first new music under the World Party banner since 2000… and it won’t just be a new CD, but, rather, a mammoth five-disc box set called ‘Arkeology’ featuring 70 previously unreleased tracks, including new songs, demos, live tracks and more.

The five-disc World Party box set announced last month will be released April 10 and comprised entirely of previously unreleased material: 70 never-before-heard tracks including new songs and an ‘unheard history of rare studio gems, live sessions, concert recordings, radio interviews, covers, demos and B-sides.’
