Having wrapped up touring and promotion of its recent singles collection, Killing Joke today announced the band will return to the studio this October to begin work on its third album for Universal/Spinefarm, with Kevin “Geordie” Walker already having demoed nine new songs.
The original lineup of Killing Joke — Jaz Coleman, Kevin ‘Geordie’ Walker, Martin ‘Youth’ Glover and Paul Ferguson — this morning announced the release of the legendary postpunk band’s 15th studio album, the aptly titled ‘2012,’ which will be released April 2 — and is preceded by the track ‘Rapture,’ which you can stream here.
Killing Joke’s reunited original lineup has plans for a busy 2012, with recording underway for a new studio album due early in the year, an elaborate live CD/DVD package set for release in January and a tour of the U.K. and Europe set to open in March.
