Crowded House has posted two videos from its Sept. 1 gig in Edmonton, Canada: a rousing take on Neil Finn’s classic 1981 Split Enz single ‘History Never Repeats,’ and ‘Four Season in One Day,’ a single off the Crowdies’ 1992 album ‘Woodface.’

On May 26, 1984 — just three months after the release of ‘The Smiths’ — a young and occasionally smiling Morrissey appeared on the BBC TV game show ‘Pop Quiz,’ which pitted two teams of musicians against each other in a battle of musical knowledge hosted by a ridiculously attired DJ named Mike Read.

Ever the teases, Depeche Mode this morning issued a second clip previewing its forthcoming ‘Tour of the Universe: Live in Barcelona’ DVD/Blu-ray, which is due out Nov. 8. This time the excerpt is a whopping 41 seconds long, and shows the band performing ‘Enjoy the Silence’ to an adoring Spanish crowd.

Details are scarce, but Sony Japan next month apparently is releasing a special expanded 30th anniversary edition of The Clash’s sprawling 1980 dub-infused triple LP ‘Sandinista!,’ packaged with a brand-new bonus DVD ‘featuring interviews, live performances and more.’

On Wednesday, the UK arm of Converse will release a new track by former New Order/current Bad Lieutenant frontman Bernard Sumner, recorded with Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard of electropop act Hot Chip and DJ/producer duo Hot City.

With the 25th anniversary of the release of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s noise-pop masterpiece ‘Psychocandy’ approaching in November, band co-founder Jim Reid is leaving the door open to the possibility of preforming the record live in concert to mark the occasion.
