Classic 2 Tone-era ska outfit The Selecter celebrates the 30th anniversary of its debut album ‘Too Much Pressure’ by performing the record in its entirety on Saturday night in London.

To commemorate XTC frontman Andy Partridge’s 57th birthday today, we present this three-song live session — recorded May 16, 1989, at MTV in New York — that finds the rarely touring trio playing two songs off the just-released ‘Oranges & Lemons,’ plus “Blue Beret,” a then-unreleased outtake.

The new album from Duran Duran — ‘All You Need is Now,’ which Nick Rhodes declares ‘the best record we’ve made in over two decades’ — will be released exclusively on iTunes on Dec. 21, but won’t come out on CD until February.

Gang of Four will support its first all-new studio album in more than 15 years — ‘Content,’ due out on Jan. 25 on Yep Roc Records — with a 13-date North American headlining tour in February, the band announced on Wednesday.

‘Entreat Plus’ — the 12-track, remixed version of The Cure’s 1990 live album that was included on CD and digital versions of the expanded ‘Disintegration’ set earlier this year — will be released as a 2LP vinyl set on Jan. 11 by Elektra Records.

Soundgarden returned to television tonight, gracing the stage of Conan O’Brien’s just-launched TBS late-night show ‘Conan’ and playing its sort-of new single ‘Black Rain’ (a ‘Badmotorfinger’ outtake that appears on the new best-of ‘Telephantasm’) for the broadcast and taping a run-through of its classic 1987 debut single ‘Hunted Down’ as a web exclusive.

Friday, a half-dozen local bands gathered in Springfield, Mo., to play Pixies songs, an otherwise run-of-the-mill tribute night except for one thing: Black Francis and his wife, former Springfielder Violet Clark, returned the favor, sending along their own video tribute to the midwestern city.
