Public Image Ltd. will release its first new album in 20 years — the 12-track ‘This is PiL’ — in either May or June, and will tease the release with a four-song, vinyl-only EP spotlighting the single ‘One Drop’ that will be released on Record Store Day, frontman John Lydon announced on British radio this morning.

This week’s new releases include expanded CD reissues of Pulp’s first three albums, a brand-new studio album from Magazine’s Barry Adamson and vinyl reissues of The Flaming Lips’ first five Warner Bros. albums, previously compiled in the ‘Heady Nuggs’ box set.

Frontman Kevin Rowland this week announced that the reactivated Dexys Midnight Runners — the New Wave act still best known for its 1982 smash ‘Come On Eileen’ — will release its first new album in 27 years this June, a record titled ‘One Day I’m Going to Soar’ that will be put out under the shortened band name Dexys.

More than a year after the death of former Japan bassist Mick Karn, fans finally will get a chance to hear the ‘Dalis Car’ EP he recorded with Peter Murphy in the fall of 2010, a five-track collection that represents the briefly reunited duo’s first work together since their lone album, ‘The Waking Hour,’ came out in 1984.
