Tonight’s installment of Slicing Up Eyeballs on Strangways Radio featured new music from Gary Numan, The Primitives and The Cure’s Robert Smith, plus new live cuts from Duran Duran and Joe Jackson, and favorites from Camouflage, Orange Juice, Pavement and The Danse Society.

Gary Numan is set to release a new album called ‘Dead Son Rising’ this September that will feature ‘a mixture of new songs, instrumental tracks and specially commissioned remixes’ that he will sell exclusively through his website and on a just-announced seven-date U.K. tour.

After bringing his ‘Unknown Pleasures’ tour to the U.S. late last year, bassist Peter Hook will return to North America this September to perform Joy Division’s second album, ‘Closer,’ at five select dates — and play ‘Unknown Pleasures’ in three cities skipped by the first tour.

As a ‘thank you’ to fans who’ve put up with the band’s recent spate of tour cancellations, Duran Duran over the weekend posted a free download of its nine-song concert for contest winners at RDS Radio in Rome, Italy, on May 12.
