When former Dead Can Dance member Brendan Perry’s joint North American tour with Cocteau Twins co-founder Robin Guthrie rolled through Seattle last month, the acclaimed musicians dropped by the studios of indie-leaning public-radio outlet KEXP, where the 4AD veterans each performed a selection of their own songs live on the air.

The U.K. arm of Rhino Records this fall will release ‘The Smiths — Complete,’ a ‘super deluxe collectors’ box set’ that will feature remastered versions of the band’s eight albums on both CD and 180-gram audiophile vinyl, plus all 25 of the group’s singles on individual 7-inches.

Tonight’s installment of Slicing Up Eyeballs on Strangeways Radio was comprised entirely of requests, including cuts by Tones on Tail, New Model Army, Waxing Poetics, Lloyd Cole, The Clean, Dramarama and more.

The briefly reunited Dalis Car — Peter Murphy and late Japan bassist Mick Karn — today released its first new music in 27 years in the form of a newly reworked version of the instrumental ‘Artemis’ with new vocals and lyrics by the former Bauhaus singer.

The mammoth 4CD/1DVD 20th anniversary reissue of Nirvana’s game-changing ‘Nevermind’ will include producer Butch Vig’s original, rejected mix of the album, plus the band’s initial Smart Studios demos and a full 1991 Halloween concert on both CD and DVD.

Earlier this evening, Jane’s Addiction took the stage at New York City’s Terminal 5 for an LG-sponsored concert that was webcast live on YouTube and will be assembled into ‘the world’s first user-generated 3D concert.’
