Back in April, The Church performed a concert at the Sydney Opera House backed by the George Ellis Orchestra dubbed “A Psychedelic Symphony” — and now we can share high-quality video of their performance of classic 1981 single ‘The Unguarded Moment’ and ‘Tantalized,’ off 1986’s ‘Heyday.’

The Cure is preparing a deluxe 20th anniversary reissue of ‘Wish’ for release sometime in 2012, as well as a new 7-inch of that album’s hit single ‘Friday I’m In Love’ to be released on Record Store Day next April to help raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Gary Numan released his latest album, Dead Son Rising, via his website back in September, but it’s just getting a physical release in the U.S. this week — and to promote it, our friends at Consequence of Sound are streaming the full record, which you can hear right here.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this morning announced its Class of 2012, a list that does not include first-time nominees The Cure, but does feature ’80s college-rock vets Red Hot Chili Peppers plus Beastie Boys, Guns N’ Roses, Donovan, Laura Nyro and a combination of The Faces and The Small Faces.

Tonight’s Slicing Up Eyeballs show on Strangeways Radio featured new music from Depeche Mode co-founders Vince Clarke and Martin L. Gore, The Dead Milkmen and Gary Numan, plus old faves by Adam Ant, Mojo Nixon, Prefab Sprout and The Sisters of Mercy — and a couple tracks off the new Cure live album.

The Wedding Present plans to release its eighth studio album in March, frontman David Gedge announced Tuesday, then embark on a 14-date North American tour that will see the band performing those new songs in addition to playing 1991’s ‘Seamonsters’ in its entirety as part of that record’s 21st anniversary.

Dead Can Dance today released the second in a series of free, four-track digital EPs collecting live material recorded on the band’s 2005 tour. ‘Live Happenings — Part II’ features in-concert recordings of ‘The Love That Cannot Be,’ ‘The Lotus Eaters,’ ‘Crescent’ and ‘Minus Sanctus.’ Get it here.
