Unable to leave London until Monday because of ‘work visa issues beyond their control,’ The Jesus and Mary Chain today replaced their appearance at the 35 Denton festival in Texas this weekend with a free show on Wednesday and moving their New Orleans concert to September.

Twenty-five years ago today, U2 cemented itself as one of rock ‘n’ roll’s giants, releasing its epochal album ‘The Joshua Tree.’ To celebrate this milestone, we present the band’s infamous “Save the Yuppies” concert from Nov. 11, 1987, when U2 set up in Justin Herman Plaza at San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center for a free concert.

Dexys — Kevin Rowland’s relaunched and newly shortened Dexys Midnight Runners — today debuted ‘Nowhere is Home,’ the first track to be released off the band’s forthcoming ‘One Day I’m Going to Soar,; on U.K. radio, and then promptly made the song available as a free download.

Having just scrubbed plans for a short U.S. tour this month, Echo & The Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch has now announced three ‘intimate’ solo shows in Liverpool and London this May to coincide with the release this spring of the singer’s new fan-funded solo album ‘Pro Patria Mori.’
