Since last November, the reunited Dead Can Dance has released a series of free digital EPs every few months collecting material recorded on the band’s 2005 tour. This week comes the latest, ‘Live Happenings — Part V,’ which features “Black Sun,” “Salem’s Lot,” “Yulunga,” “Severance” and “Hymn for the Fallen.”

This week’s installment of Slicing Up Eyeballs on Strangeways Radio featured new music from a-ha’s Morten Harket, J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr, and Public Image Ltd., plus old favorites from The Wild Swans, Electronic, Love and Rockets, The Soup Dragons, Stan Ridgway, The House of Love and more.

As part of the label’s new From the Vaults web series on The Warner Sound channel on YouTube, the folks at Warner Bros. have dug up what they are billing as a previously unreleased, 26-minute Depeche Mode promotional documentary put together to promote the release of 1993’s ‘Songs of Faith and Devotion.’

The reunited ’80s-era lineup of Ultravox — featuring Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Chris Cross and Warren Cann — today announced a 13-date U.K. tour this September and October in support of the band’s forthcoming comeback album, ‘Brilliant’ — the first new album from that lineup in nearly three decades.

The story of the Meat Puppets will be told through new interviews with Peter Buck, J Mascis, Ian MacKaye, Flea, Henry Rollins, Lee Ranaldo, Mike Watt and more in Greg Prato’s new authorized, 407-page oral history of the legendary indie-rockers, ‘Too High to Die: Meet the Meat Puppets,’ due out June 1.

The Jesus and Mary Chain will join headliners Iggy and the Stooges and Elvis Costello at this September’s punk-heavy Riot Fest 2012 in Chicago, promoters announced this week, marking the latest U.S. date to be added to the slow-roll out of the Mary Chain’s still-evolving summer North American tour.

The new album from electronic music project Soulsavers — featuring Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan on lead vocals — arrives next week, but Mute Records is letting fans hear the full stream of ‘The Light the Dead See’ via the widget posted here.
