Last month, we brought you downloads of two new Robyn Hitchcock songs — the latest in his ‘Phantom 45s’ series — plus a video for one of them, the KT Tunstall-featuring ‘There Goes the Ice.’ Now we can present the second clip, a pub-style hootenanny for the song ‘Twitch 4 Sam Surfer.’

Since announcing their reunion, The Stone Roses have booked dates across Europe and into the Far East, yet no official mention has been made of North American concerts. According to a fan at this weekend’s Barcelona tour kickoff, though, John Squire confirmed the Roses will play the U.S. ‘next year.’

The Pet Shop Boys this morning announced they’ll release ‘Elysium’ — their 11th studio album, and first since 2009’s ‘Yes’ — this September, and are previewing the release with a ‘short film’ for downtempo album track ‘Invisible,’ which you can watch here. The film made by Los Angeles artist and filmmaker Brian Bress.

Dates continue to slip out for The Jesus and Mary Chain’s late-summer return to North America, with concerts in Philadelphia and Madison, Wisc., joining the expanding roster. According to WXPN, JAMC will play Philly’s Union Transfer on Sept. 8, while a Sept. 19 date at Madison’s Majestic Theatre is appearing on multiple websites.

This week’s new releases include brand-new studio albums from The dB’s (their first in 25 year), the Bodeans and Men Without Hats, plus a live album from electro-industrial giants Skinny Puppy and a reissue of ‘File Under: Easy Listening,’ the second album by Bob Mould’s band Sugar.

The playlist from tonight’s edition of ‘Dark Wave’ — the Sunday night ‘darker side of alternative’ show on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave — featured Dead Can Dance, The Damned, The Stranglers, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Yazoo, The Sugarcubes, Modern English, The Teardrop Explodes and much more.
