This week’s “120 Minutes” Rewind is short and sweet, but it’s a great historical footnote for fans of the MTV Sunday night classic. Another great piece of video from Seattle’s KEXP this week: This time it’s a half-hour set from Dinosaur Jr recorded at the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, Ore., on Sept. 8 during MusicfestNW. As you can see from the setlist, the trio blasts its way through five classic tracks, culminating in a run through Green Mind opener “The Wagon.”

Simple Minds last week announced plans to release a double-CD live album culled from this year’s “5×5 Live” tour of Europe, and now comes the full tracklist, which, keeping with the tour’s concept, draws five songs apiece off of each of the band’s first five albums. Check out the full tracklist.

We’ve got some big news today on the radio front: Slicing Up Eyeballs — that is, yours truly, site founder/editor Matt Sebastian — has been asked to host “Dark Wave,” the Sunday night show that explores the “darker side of alternative” on satellite-radio network Sirius XM’s classic-alternative station 1st Wave.
