Depeche Mode today announced it will release its 13th studio album — a 13-track effort titled ‘Delta Machine’ that was produced by Ben Hillier and mixed by Flood— worldwide on March 26, to be preceded by the first single “Heaven,” which will receive its world premiere on Vevo on Feb. 1.
Organizers of Barcelona’s Primavera Sound 2013 festival unfurled a mind-bending lineup topped by headliners The Jesus and Mary Chain, Blur, My Bloody Valentine and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, in addition to appearances by Dinosaur Jr, Bob Mould, Dead Can Dance, The Breeders and many more.
Cherry Red Records next month will reissue U.K. art rockers The Blue Aeroplanes’ 1991 album ‘Beatsongs’ — featuring the singles “Yr Own World” and “The Boy in the Bubble,” the latter a Paul Simon cover — in an expanded 2CD edition with 10 bonus tracks, including B-sides, mixes and a pair of previously unreleased tracks.
The recently revived Factory Benelux next month will reissue the Martin Hannett-produced ‘Swimming’ — the lone album released by Brussels-based post-punk act The Names during its original run — on CD and vinyl, featuring a remastered version of the original 1982 record plus non-album singles and a Peel session.
They Might Be Giants this week released the ‘Nanobots EP,’ a three-track teaser ahead of the March 5 release of their 16th studio album, ‘Nanobots,’ that features the already premiered “Call You Mom” and two more tracks off the new record — and you can check out one of those, “Lost My Mind,” right here.
