Johnny Marr was feted at the NME Awards in London on Wednesday night, winning the music mag’s “Godlike Genius” award and then taking the stage to perform tracks off his solo album and a couple Smiths classics — including “How Soon Is Now?,” for which he was joined by Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones.

Paisley Underground standard-bearers The Three O’Clock will prepare for their Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival reunion this April with a far more intimate warm-up gig in Pomona, Calif. — part of the mammoth music fest’s slate Los Angeles-area concerts taking place before and between the event’s twin weekends.

Crime and the City Solution — which, during the ’80s, included members of The Birthday Party, Swell Maps and Einstürzende Neubauten — will release its first new album in 23 years next month, and they’ve just dropped the first video from the record, a clip for opening track “Goddess,” which you can see right here.

The Songs for Slim benefit EP from The Replacements hits radio and digital outlets next week, but the first taste of the in-studio reunion hit the web today, thanks to Pitchfork’s premiere of the new ‘Mats cover of Gordon Lightfoot’s “I’m Not Sayin'” — one of four cover songs recorded by Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson.

The Call — best known for their ’80s radio hits “The Walls Came Down,” “I Still Believe” and “Let the Day Begin” — will reunite this spring for their first concerts in more than 20 years, with Robert Levon Been of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club filling in for his late father Michael Been, who died of a heart attack in 2010.

Starting with collections from Love and Rockets and Gary Numan, Beggars Banquet this spring will launch a new series of five-album catalog box sets designed to help keep “slower selling titles” in print, an effort the label acknowledges “may be the last chance to present the albums as physical releases in the foreseeable future.”
