The Pet Shop Boys today revealed that the final mix of their new Stuart Price-produced album Electric is due to be finished by week’s end and that full details of the record, including the final tracklist and release date, are scheduled to be announced next Tuesday — along with the duo’s full North American tour itinerary.

Peter Murphy last night opened his world tour celebrating the 35th anniversary of Bauhaus, performing, as promised, a set of songs by his former band at a club in San Antonio, Texas — hitting everything from classics “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” and “Dark Entries” to deeper album cuts like “King Volcano.”

Despite suggestions he might make new music with Big Audio Dynamite, it appears Mick Jones has moved on to other projects — namely re-teaming with Tony James of Generation X in their band Carbon/Silicon, which has just released a mellow, uplifting new single called “Big Surprise.”

The reunited indie-pop outfit The Ocean Blue has debuted a dark, moody video for”Sad Night, Where is Morning?.” the lead single off Ultramarine, the band’s first new album since 2000′s Davy Jones’ Locker. We’ve been marveling at the length of The Cure’s sets on the band’s just-completed Latin American tour, but last night’s concert in Mexico City took the (birthday) cake: Celebrating his 54th birthday, Robert Smith led the band through a 50-song set that lasted 4 hours and 16 minutes.

Depeche Mode will warm up for the opening of its Delta Machine world tour in Nice, France, early next month with a just-announced free concert in Los Angeles this Friday at The Troubadour, a 400-capacity club that radio station KROQ is calling “the smallest venue the band has played in L.A…. EVER!”
