Following up last fall’s initial spurt of shows in the U.K. and France, The Jesus and Mary Chain today announced nine North American concerts at which the band will perform its 1985 noise-pop debut Psychocandy as part of the 30th anniversary celebration of that album.

Fans who’ve followed the work of Rick Valentin shouldn’t be surprised by the guitars-meets-electronics sound of his new project Thoughts Detecting Machines. As frontman of strident late-’80s indie-rockers Poster Children, Valentin would help launch, a decade later, a concurrent electronic side project called Salaryman.

Omnivore Recordings continues its Game Theory reissue campaign with the release in March of an expanded 30th anniversary edition of the Scott Miller-fronted college-rock favorites’ 1985 sophomore album Real Nighttime, supplementing the original record with 13 bonus tracks.
