Next month, Artoffact Records will reissue pioneering electronic music act 808 State’s second and third albums — 1989’s Ninety and 1991’s ex:el — in expanded and remastered form on limited-edition, collector’s item cassettes — and we’ve got two sets of them to give away to lucky Slicing Up Eyeballs readers.

The death of Casey Kasem on Sunday reminded different people of different things, from those long-distance dedications on “American Top 40” to his iconic voicing of Shaggy on “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!” But for some of us, Kasem’s greatest achievement was his most unintentional.

Tonight’s edition of “Dark Wave” on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave featured a brand-new Morrissey track, plus old favorites from Chris & Cosey, The Sugarcubes, Nitzer Ebb, Dead Can Dance, Rose of Avalanche, Shriekback, Joy Division, Pigface, And Also the Trees, Skinny Puppy and more.

After rescheduling two more concerts last night, Morrissey today surrendered to what is becoming increasingly inevitable, canceling the remaining nine dates on his U.S. tour — including those just-rebooked shows — as battles a respiratory infection he contracted in Miami.

It’s no secret that Morrissey’s been gearing up to release his first new studio album in five years next month, but the former Smiths frontman also has just reissued one of his best solo efforts, 1994’s Vauhxall and I — and we’ve got 10 copies to hand out to lucky Slicing Up Eyeballs readers in the U.S.

Midnight Oil this month will release for the first time remastered CDs of the band’s full catalog from 1978 to 1993 — the group’s first eight full-length albums, plus two EPs — and also will finally issue its 1990 VHS release “Black Rain Falls” on DVD and digitally.
