The documentary about Wax Trax! Records shop and record label — which received its first public airing this past April in Chicago — will be screened this November in Los Angeles at an event featuring current and former members of My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Revolting Cocks, Ministry and Front 242.
Emerging from the C86 indie-pop scene, The Soup Dragons hit the charts in the early ’90s with their dance-rock cover of the Rolling Stones’ “I’m Free” and their own “Divine Thing” — an evolution in sound that would only hint at what was to come from frontman Sean Dickson.
Heaven 17 has long been more of a studio entity than a live vehicle. The group, which formed in 1980, didn’t perform live until 1997. And now, 36 years after the release of their debut Penthouse and Pavement, Martyn Ware and Glenn Gregory finally will bring H17 to America for a pair of long-awaited concerts next month.
