As hinted at over the weekend, Simple Minds today announced a rare North American tour that will hit 24 cities in September and October, the most extensive touring the band has done in the U.S. and Canada in more than 30 years. The tour opens Sept. 24 in Bethlehem, Pa., and runs through Oct. 29 in Vancouver, B.C.

The announcement last week that Tears For Fears was postponing a U.K. tour with Alison Moyet due to an undisclosed health issue came with a glimmer of good news: Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith hope to finish work on their first new album in 14 years and release it this fall.

British publisher Faber Social has announced it will release a new memoir penned by Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club drummer Chris Frantz called “Remain in Love” in the spring of 2020 to coincide with the 40th anniversary that year of the band’s renowned fourth album Remain in Light.

Following their performance at the Day For Night Festival and a handful of other U.S. dates last December, iconic noise-rock act The Jesus Lizard have signaled they’re keeping their reunion going, announcing another short run of shows this coming September. Full dates right here.

Fans of Simple Minds living in the U.S. and Canada don’t get many opportunities to see the otherwise oft-touring act; the band last toured North America in 2013, but that was a mere seven-date run. And before that, the band had last mounted a 16-date North American tour in 2002.

At long last — eight years, to be exact — Robert Smith is resuming the deluxe reissues of albums by The Cure, beginning with an expanded 3-disc edition of the 1990 remix collection Mixed Up that’s due out in June, to be followed, he says, by the long-awaited reissue of 1992’s Wish.
