Pioneering British synthpop outfit Heaven 17 — originally a studio-only entity that didn’t perform live until nearly two decades after its founding — will stage a short North American tour this May that the duo of Glenn Gregory and Martyn Ware are calling “our first proper U.S. tour.” Full dates and details right here.

The 4AD label next month will release remastered editions of the Cocteau Twins’ first and fourth studio albums — 1982’s Garlands and 1986’s Victorialand — on 140-gram black vinyl, completing the effort to put all of the band’s studio albums back in print on vinyl. Details right here.
Andy Gill, the guitarist who co-founded and remained the sole original member of Gang of Four, and whose sharp-edged playing help define the U.K. post-punk sound of the late 1970s and early ’80s, died Saturday at a London hospital following a short respiratory illness. He was 64.
Founding guitarist Peter Koppes has left Australian alt-rock legends The Church for the second time “to explore his own musical path,” bandleader Steve Kilbey announced on Facebook today, while also revealing the group is at work on a new studio album. Full details right here.
