The Pixies have canceled or postponed a run of concerts set to begin this week in Japan and China as concerns grow about the spread of the deadly coronavirus. The cancellation earlier this month of the band’s Chinese dates was linked publicly to the coronoavirus, though the postponement of the Japanese concerts has not.
Musician and activist Amanda Palmer has just released a rush-recorded, eight-song charity album in response to the devastating Australian bushfires, and you can hear its lead-off single — a cover of Midnight Oil’s “Beds Are Burning” with vocals by Missy Higgins — right here. Full details and such.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds today announced plans for an 18-date North American tour this fall in support of the band’s 2019 double album Ghosteen. The trek, which opens Sept. 16 in Minneapolis, finds the band playing theaters and arenas through an Oct. 17 date in Vancouver, B.C.
