Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, the British musician, poet, performance artist, occultist and avant garde avatar who co-founded pioneering industrial act Throbbing Gristle as well as Psychic TV, died Saturday after battling leukemia for 2½ years, the Dais Records label announced. P-Orridge was 70 years old.
The coronavirus pandemic is wreaking havoc on live music across the globe, with giant festivals — including Coachella and South By Southwest — postponed or canceled and tours in the U.S. and around the world being canceled or curtailed in an effort to protect large crowds from transmitting COVID-19.
The Psychedelic Furs today debuted the second track off the band’s first album in 29 years, a song called “You’ll Be Mine” that has a slight Celtic tinge and will be featured on the eagerly awaited Made of Rain, which is due out May 1 via Cooking Vinyl. Hear it right here.
