The musical mavens at The Arkive — the archival wing of the Beggars Group — today launch a new dark-hued playlist called “Goth: Yesterday and Today” that brings together 30 songs over more than two hours, spanning the late ’70s to today. Check out the whole thing right here.

Matador Records will release a new limited-edition Gang of Four vinyl box set in December called 77-81 that will collect the band’s first two albums, singles, a previously unreleased live set from 1980 and 26 never-before-issued outtakes, demos and rarities from the era. Indie-rock powerhouse Superchunk has resurrected its Halloween single tradition, today releasing the track “There’s a Ghost” — the band’s first new song in two years — with a cover of The Sisters of Mercy’s 1983 single “Alice” as the B-side. You can hear both right here via Bandcamp.

Cleopatra Records today digitally released two newly unearthed and previously unreleased mixes of Ministry’s classic 1985 single “Everyday (Is Halloween),” along with thepreviously unreleased song “Playground” and an unissued instrumental version of “I See Red.” Hear the whole thing right here.
