Denise Johnson, the Manchester-born singer whose soulful voice lifted the music of Primal Scream — most memorably on Screamadelica — A Certain Ratio, New Order and more has died at the age of 56, according to U.K. press reports and musicians she’d worked with. No cause of death has been announced.
They Might Be Giants have rescheduled their coronavirus-foiled Flood 30th anniversary tour, plotting a new 46-date trek through much of 2021 during which the two Johns will perform their beloved 1990 album in its entirety each night. Check out the new tour itinerary right here.
London’s Folk Devils, a blues-splashed post-punk act originally active from 1983 to ’87, are back with their first new music in 33 years, a three-song EP called Forever that’s due out in September but which can be streamed right now exclusively at Slicing Up Eyeballs. Listen to the EP right here.

This Friday, Showtime will premiere Alison Ellwood’s new documentary “The Go-Go’s,” which traces the rise of the hugely popular band out of the Los Angeles punk scene in the late ’70s and early ’80s. The 98-minute film premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT on July 31. Watch the full trailer right here.
With The Psychedelic Furs’ first new album in 29 years scheduled to come out this Friday, the band has debuted the music video for the track “Come All Ye Faithful,” which was released last month as the fourth track to premiere off the new album Made of Rain. Watch the video right here.
Bauhaus will open what it’s referring to as a 2021 world tour with a pair of rescheduled concerts in México City next April as the reunited band slowly shifts its planned 2020 touring activity — disrupted, like everything else, by the coronavirus — to next year.
