XTC next month will reissue its 11th album — 1989’s Oranges & Lemons, featuring “The Mayor of Simpleton” and “King for a Day” — on 200-gram audiophile vinyl with remastered sound and a reworked sleeve “to present the front color image in all its psychedelic glory.” Full details right here.

Fire Records has just reissued The Chills’ second and third albums — 1990’s major-label debut Submarine Bells and its follow-up, 1992’s Soft Bomb — on vinyl with newly remastered sound, pressings that are available now via the label but not until November in record stores. Full details right here.

The definitive Lloyd Cole and the Commotions box set Collected Recordings 1983-1989 — which pulls together the Commotions’ three albums, as well as bonus collections of B-sides, remixes,  outtakes, demos and rarities — will receive its first-ever vinyl release later this month.

The 4AD label this summer will mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the Pixies’ third album, Bossanova, with a new pressing on red vinyl that includes the original 16-page booklet that previously only was included with the original U.K. vinyl release. Full details right here.

Rhino Records will release a new 40th anniversary edition of Joy Division’s second album Closer, a new pressing on clear vinyl that will be issued alongside new vinyl pressings of three of the band’s iconic non-album singles. Plus, the former members of Joy Division are marking the anniversary of Ian Curtis’s death today.

The organizers of Record Store Day today announced the postponement of the 2020 installment for the second time, pushing the event first scheduled for April 18 and then delayed until June 30 to three separate “drops” in August, September and October. Full details on the new events right here.
