Erasure will release a fully re-recorded version of the duo’s 2017 album World Be Gone in March, a new collaboration with the Brussels-based Echo Collective called World Beyond that’s being billed as a “post-classical rework” of the group’s latest album. The surviving members of The Smithereens took to the stage in Red Bank, N.J., last night to pay tribute to their fallen bandleader, Pat DiNizio — performing a marathon set that found the band’s members joined by special guests Steven Van Zandt, Dave Davies of The Kinks, Marshal Crenshaw, Ted Leo, and more.

Three-quarters of R.E.M. — Peter Buck, Mike Mills and drummer-turned-farmer Bill Berry — reunited onstage tonight in Portland, Ore., at the second of two benefit concerts for Scott McCaughey, the longtime R.E.M. sideman who suffered a stroke in November.
