No stranger to odd musical detours — whether it be ‘Metal Machine Music’ or his most recent project, ‘Hudson River Wind Meditations’ — the legendary Lou Reed has a particularly unlikely musical partner for his next album: thrash-metal titans Metallica.

While he hasn’t yet premiered the music video for ‘Ninth’ lead-off single ‘I Spit Roses,’ Peter Murphy has certainly teased it, first with a Facebook gallery of on-set photos, and now this nearly 3-minute behind-the-scenes clip.

Piano-tinkling New Wave singer-songwriter Joe Jackson dropped by ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ last night to promote his just released ‘Live Music’ album by performing his 1982 crossover hit ‘Steppin’ Out.’

Fans of The Primitives received a pleasant surprise this morning, when the reunited indie-pop act posted a video on its Facebook page of its newly recorded cover of late-’60s obscurity ‘The Witch’ by German duo Adam & Eve.

The much-anticipated Depeche Mode collection ‘Remixes 2: 81-11’ is out in the U.S. today, and to promote the release, frontman Dave Gahan dropped by the studios of New York’s WNYC last week for a segment on the station’s ‘Soundcheck’ show.

Last week, Jane’s Addiction debuted the first video from its forthcoming album ‘The Great Escape Artist,’ a somewhat NSFW clip (there’s a naked lady!) for the track ‘End to the Lies’ that was directed by ShadowMachine Films.
